daisy_chan | Nov. 17th, 2008 02:41 pm amazing conversations of the week:
A: I'm sick of people telling me thinks that just completely destroy my world view. It's like next someone is going to tell me that Jesus wasn't born on December 25th. D: Um... actually Jesus was probably born in the spring. A: Oh, shut up. D: No, really, from the descriptions in the Bible, it's most probably in the spring. A: Isn't that Easter? D: Well, yes, but Jesus' birth too. Early Christians just shuffled the dates around to line up better with the Pagan calendar, so it'd be easier to convert people. A: .......I hate you. D: I get that a lot.
KEIKO-SENSEI: Daishi. DAISY: Hai? KEIKO-SENSEI: Winter break doko e ikimasu ka? DAISY: Connecticut.... e ikimasu. KEIKO-SENSEI: ......doko? DAISY: ...Connecticut. Er, Konetakato. KEIKO-SENSEI: ......EH?!
So, LJ is going to be down during the day tomorrow. Are there any offsite ficcing planned on JF or IJ or something? 6 comments - Leave a comment

nurseniknak | Nov. 16th, 2008 10:12 pm Why would someone do this? I mean it. I don't understand at all.
Do not click this link if you're weak of stomach and can't handle body mutilations ( I mean, you can see this chick's BONES it's so brutal ). So, don't blame me if you click this link, look at the images, and barf, because I'm warning you RIGHT NOW not to look at this if gore grosses you out. You were warned . Here's the link.
(And no, it's not a rick roll.)
If someone wants to die so badly that they literally cut their limbs OPEN, ... why not just go ahead and do it? As a commenter said, I guess the adrenaline must have kicked in for her to be able to ... cut so much. And so deep.
It doesn't gross me out, I actually feel kind of sad... I don't know. :\ I feel sad for her. And she's starved herself so badly... I just don't get it. I mean, yeah, I've been into certain things in the past (way, way past), but NOTHING, NOTHING as ... awful as this.
Thoughts?
Current Mood: melancholy

kc_anathema | Nov. 16th, 2008 06:17 pm Somali president says Islamists control most of country
MOGADISHU: President Abdullahi Yusuf has admitted Islamist insurgents now control most of Somalia, and he raised the prospect that his government could completely collapse.
The insurgents have been enforcing a strict form of Islamic law in areas they capture. On Saturday, they whipped 32 people for taking part in a traditional dance in rebel-held territory south of the capital. 1 comment - Leave a comment

Yeah, it's like... 50 down here. Or warmer.
So, deery lous, I shall be AWAY for five days or so to spend a well deserved few days with Brett. Sorry I've been away on AIM and stuff, but I just got tired of being attacked or my buttons intentionally pushed. I can't help it - I'm human, and some things just set me off, and when those buttons are pushed, I want said person to leave.me.alone, because 90% of the time, they only bring up the topic in order to piss me off. I'm not as nice as I used to be, and I'm sick of being the butt of everyone's enjoyment.
Anyways, scrambling that topic off to the side, hope everyone has a good week. I'll be back Friday. Here's to hoping I don't crash and die driving through snow-covered West Virginia mountains. I found a new route that shaves about 2 hours off my driving time. Instead of driving up to Canton and cutting over 36 through Wooster to get to Mansfield, I go up 77 to Charleston, WVa, then cut over to 33, and then to 270 North, which'll get me to Mansfield in about 8 hours doing the speed limit (sometimes I'm faster, sometimes I'm slower). That works out great, because I hate driving through the Hicktowns of West Virginia (I swear I used a genuine outhouse one time). People are NOT friendly in West Virginia. And 'Ohioians' are even meaner. :| I'll miss being in Nicetown, NC. I'm leaving at 5 am tomorrow. ;_;!! (before Biscuitville opens!!)
We've had Thanksgiving at church tonight, and it was yummy. :3
Bye, y'all! See you Fridayz!

"Brett, I don't think we're near the Easton Mall [columbus]" "We're fine, I think it's this direction on the loop." - 10 minutes later - "Here, pull over and ask these people in McDonald's where we're at." "No." "Okay, pull over and I'll go in and ask them." -Brett pulls over- -Nikki gets out, asks some random dude in McDonald's- -Gets back in the car- "We've been going the wrong way on the loop. But it's okay, we're already looped around the city, so we just keep going straight."

kc_anathema | Nov. 16th, 2008 03:22 am snagged from desert_wisdom
The devil appeared to a monk disguised as an angel of light, and said to him, "I am the angel Gabriel, and I have been sent to you."
But the monk said, "Are you sure you weren't sent to someone else? I am not worthy to have an angel sent to me."
At that the devil vanished. Leave a comment
